Year 6 Letters
The Wild Place, Bristol – Year 6 – Tuesday 5th November 2024
Where are we going? |
The Wild Place, Bristol |
Why are we going there? |
In our Madagascar schoolhouse, next to the lemurs and goats, children discover the unique species of the world’s fourth largest island, and play the deforestation game. Then they explore a Madagascan village, solving clues in an interactive trail. As part of our study of deforestation and climate change, the children will also learn to: identify the location of Madagascar, habitats and animals, describe causes of habitat destruction and why some species are endangered and suggest why conservation of our planet’s habitats is important. |
When are we going there? |
The trip will take place on Tuesday 5th November 2024. We will leave school at 08.50am and hope to return at 15.00. |
What should children bring? |
No money will be needed by the children on the day. |
What about lunch? |
You can order a school packed lunch via Innovate or you can provide a home packed lunch. |
What should children wear? |
Please ensure children have warm clothes, including a coat, and practical footwear. We will be spending time both indoors and outside. |
How much will it cost? |
The cost of the trip is £9.00. This is heavily subsidised by the school. Parents of Pupil Premium children, please contact the office about the cost. Please note that if we do not receive enough funding support, it will not be possible for the trip to go ahead. |
