Eastover Community Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children and young people are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure children and young people receive effective support, protection and justice.

We believe that safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility. We have a safeguarding team here in school that is headed by Ms Alcock (Deputy Head). If you have any worries regarding child protection issues, please speak to her. If you have concerns out of school hours you can contact Somerset Direct on 0300 123 2224 or 0300 123 2327 out of hours.

We require two contact numbers for each pupil.

Mobile Phone Procedure - pupils bringing them into school

All pupils bringing mobile phones into school are required to switch them off at the school gates and hand them in to their class teacher to be securely locked away. At the end of the school day, they will be returned and pupils may switch them back on when they have left the school premises.

For further information, please refer to the school's safeguarding/online safety policy.
