Whole School Weekly Bulletin 14.02.2025

Whole School:
  • We hope you all have a nice half-term, and we will see you back at school on Monday 24th February.

  • Ms Darby will be retiring at the end of the summer term; the Governors will keep you informed when the process of replacing the Headteacher has been completed.

  • As part of our oracy project, we are introducing Sticky Questions. It is a whole school approach, and the idea is the children are talking about a question each week, throughout the school day as well as at home.  There is one question for FS, one for KS1 and one for KS2, these will be in the bulletin each week. What makes Sticky Questions “sticky” is that you can keep on discussing them! The sticky questions for w/c 24th Feb are below:

FS Sticky Question: How is a dog like a sofa?

KS1 Sticky Question: If you like a food your parent hates, does it taste different to each of you or do you like different tastes?

KS2 Sticky Question: What would a perfect world be like?

  • Message from Mrs Tustin: Pupils have been sent home with World Book Day book tokens. These can be used in any participating stores such as Asda, Sainsbury's and independent book shops and can be exchanged for specially published book or used towards the cost of a book. The tokens will also be accepted at our Usborne Book Fayre which will take place on the 20th and 21st of March after school in the hall.

There is a library competition on the run up to World Book Day, please see attached poster.

Don't forget, World Book Day itself is Thursday 6th of March. The theme is 'Read your way'. The idea is to wear something comfortable that you like to wear when reading. Or, if your child already has a book themed costume, they can wear that.  To take part in the House Competition decorate and dress a wooden spoon to look like a book character. Bring your entries to the hall on the morning of the 6th.

  • Please see attached a timetable of the activities Twilight Club are running throughout February. Please note that the normal activities at twilight club are still available for children to do on these days. You can book your child on to one of these sessions via your Scopay app, if your child has not attended Twilight club before you will need to contact the school office.

Year 3 swimming will continue after half term. Please make sure on Monday you are sending your children in with their swimming kits and towels.

Year 3 Lions Parent assembly is on Thursday 27th February, gates open at 2:30pm

Year 3 Tigers Parent assembly is on Thursday 6th March, gates open at 2:30pm
